One eastern Kentucky hospital is joining others trying to help the environment by "going green".

On Tuesday April 8th, Pikeville Medical Center and the City of Pikeville will start a partnership that will allow the two to reduce the amount of waste they send to the landfill.

A recycling center on site at P.M.C. will allow people to recycle cardboard, paper, plastic and aluminum cans.

The city and the hospital say they hope to reduce landfill waste by more than 100,000 pounds with the partnership.
